LS Dunes share new single “Machines”: Listen

Emo/post-hardcore supergroup LS Dunes has released their debut album Past lives in 2022, and since then they've released a steady diet of one-off singles. The last of these songs was “Fatal Deluxe,” which came out just last month. Now, ahead of their performance at the When We Were Young Festival this weekend, LS Dunes have released and announced another track Violettheir upcoming second LP.

Violet will be released early next year and will not contain too many of the singles that LS Dunes released as singles. Once again the band recorded with producer Will Yip. The new LS Dunes track “Machines” is a soaring, melodic track with a few raucous screams of happiness. This is what frontman Anthony Green, also from Circa Survive and Saosin, says about the LP:

I was so tired of playing the song where I sing, “I'm sorry, I wish I was dead,” and I'm so sorry I even wrote that song. I'm grateful that it resonates with people, but it just wasn't helpful for me to sing or talk about it every night. So this time I personally decided that I really wanted to make a record that said there is magic in the world. I wanted to celebrate music and the transformative power it has to connect and inspire people. I wanted to do something that was completely opposite to that song – something that said, “I want to live.”

Band member Frank Iero, also from My Chemical Romance, directed the video together with David Brodsky. The clip makes a lot of fun with the word “supergroup” and shows the band playing on a cheesy '70s talk show and winning over a skeptical audience. Check out the new album's video and tracklist below.
