Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman reveals his daughter's horror diagnosis

Johnny Van Zant, the legendary frontman of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has shared heartbreaking news about his daughter's recent health scare.

Van Zant, 63, shared on Facebook before the weekend that his youngest daughter, Taylor, had been diagnosed with a brain mass.

The shocking news came just days after the band was forced to cancel several concerts, citing a “family emergency.”

“First of all, I want to thank you all for praying for my family,” Van Zant said in the video. 'I have not revealed my daughter's name as she is very private. When I say that, I think many of you know that she is my youngest daughter, Taylor.”

Van Zant explained that Taylor suddenly felt numbness on the right side of her body.

The family then rushed her to the emergency room, where doctors discovered a mass on her brain that had also caused internal bleeding.

“A few days ago, Taylor started feeling numb on his right side,” he said. “She went to the emergency room, they did a CAT scan and found it was just a mass in her brain and part of it was bleeding. “That's what caused the numbing part.”

While doctors don't believe the mass is cancer, Van Zant said more tests are being done and they are not out of the woods yet.

“When I say that, we put them together with a great neurological team and a group of doctors and they don't believe it's (cancer),” he continued.

“So that's a good thing, but they're still doing a lot of testing.” “We're not out of the woods yet, but we're in a much better position than we thought at the beginning.”

But the disturbing news didn't end there.

The rock star also revealed that his longtime tour bus driver Brad Gibson is currently in the intensive care unit after suffering a horrific accident during a stopover in Utah.

“I have another one; When it rains, it pours. “My bus driver who has been traveling with me for the last few months,” he said.

“He broke the scooter and hit his head and he's in intensive care.” Brad Gibson is his name. I want to get Brad back on his feet along with Taylor.

“He's got a great family, a little daughter, a great family, and he's been a great driver for us.” Good guy and a really freak accident; If you can pray, pray, pray for him.

“You know, the (devil) will try in every possible way to get you if you start spreading his word, but we won't let it happen,” he added. “We will fight him to the end.” He only wants to cause trouble and harm us.

“So think about it, I won't let it happen. I will fight it with Jesus Christ to the end.”
