They travel to I-5 to face rival Seattle Sounders FC (3rd, 16-8-8, 56 points) in the 2024 regular season finale. The Cascadia Cup will be up for grabs on MLS Decision Day 2024.

Should Vancouver Whitecaps FC finish as a No. 8 or 9 seed, next week's MLS Cup Playoffs Wild Card Game will be played at BC Place in Providence Park due to a conflicting event.

If Minnesota United FC finishes as the No. 8 seed, the Timbers will travel to Minnesota.

Portland is in the driver's seat in the 2024 Cascadia Cup heading into its final game of the season against the Seattle Sounders. The Timbers will enter Lumen Field looking for one of two results to secure the regional silver trophy; a win or a draw.

It's quite the end to the 2024 season as the league's two longest-tenured rivals square off, with the Cascadia Cup on the line as a bonus. The Timbers want to secure both the regional cup and the hosting rights for the Western Conference Wild Card Game in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. To do this, they must secure a result behind enemy lines.

The Seattle Sounders quietly shot up the standings in the second half of 2024 and moved into the top three in the conference. When the two teams met for the first time this year in May, Seattle was in 11th place in the West and the postseason looked bleak. Five months later they are now in third place and are seeded in the home playoffs. Jordan Morris (13g, 5a) and Alex Rusnak (10g, 15a) struggled with injuries and development all year and would have to carry much of the offensive load in 2024. Raúl Ruidíaz's health is volatile, and Pedro de la Vega As the Sounders have also succumbed to injury fever, they have progressed without two of their three DPs. Yeimar Gomez (5.1 clearances per 90) and Jackson Ragen (0.7 blocks per 90) lead Seattle's defense, while Stefan Frei (28 MP, 26 GA) continues to man the posts in the background.

After 38 regular season MLS matches, the Timbers are just one win away from a draw in the head-to-head series. Portland has registered 14 wins To Seattle's 15thwith 9 draws Heading to the No. 39 matchup.

Since September 2020, the Timbers have not left Lumen Field empty-handed last six gameswith three wins and three draws and zero defeats.

With the first two meetings of 2024 taking place at Providence Park, Saturday's Decision Day clash will be the first since 413 days that the Timbers will travel to Puget Sound for a regular season game. The last time the two met at Lumen Field during the regular season was on September 2, 2023, when the Timbers played to an incredible 2-2 draw.
