Melania Trump reveals her first date with Donald lasted an hour and a half to see a house

Melania Trump has revealed that on her first date with Donald, he took her on an hour-and-a-half drive to view a property he wanted to buy.

In her first interview in two years, the former first lady, 54, spoke candidly about herself and her early courtship of the former president.

Ms. Trump said that after initially refusing to give Trump, 78, her number, the two spoke on the phone during a modeling shoot in the Caribbean and arranged their first date upon their return.

The meeting included an hour-and-a-half drive to Bedford, New Jersey, so that Trump, who made his money in real estate, could view a property he was interested in purchasing.

“So he combined business with a first date with me,” she told Fox News.

“And it was very nice because we were alone in the car for two hours, an hour and a half, and there was no other noise, no other people, because at that time he was already well known and a celebrity.”

She continued, “So it was really nice to just be the two of us.”

The details of the couple's early romance differ from those previously provided by the former first lady.

In 2016, she told Harper's Bazaar that on their first date, she and Trump went to dinner and then to Moomba, a New York City restaurant and lounge.

“It was a great place, wasn’t it? “I remember that night like it was two months ago,” she told the magazine.

In the wide-ranging interview with Fox, which comes ahead of the release of her new book, “Melania,” Ms. Trump also revealed that she watched the former president get shot on television.

“I ran to the TV, rewound it and watched it,” she said, referring to the moment a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July and into the former president's ear lap.

“I didn't really see it live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a few minutes later. But when I saw it, it was just… No one really knew. Because if you see him on the ground and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”
