Michigan vs. Washington tips, odds, how to watch: The Huskies are favored in the rematch for the national title

The last time Michigan and Washington played each other was for the national championship. The two teams will meet again on Saturday evening, this time as Big Ten opponents, with the defending champions being slight underdogs on the road.

The 10th-ranked Wolverines (4-1) have rebounded since a loss to Texas in Week 2 but are desperate for more balance on offense. Running back Kalel Mullings has been a revelation for new head coach Sherrone Moore with 423 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the last three games.

However, the quarterback position has been a constant weak point, with fewer than 120 passing yards per game and more interceptions (seven) than touchdowns (five). Regardless of whether Alex Orji or Davis Warren is under center in this game, the results through the air may not be the same against a Huskies defense that ranks sixth nationally (128 yards per game) in passing look better.

Throwing the football wasn't a problem for Washington (3-2). Quarterback Will Rogers, who transferred from Mississippi State, has made a seamless transition to first-year head coach Jedd Fisch's system. He is among the national leaders with a completion percentage of 74.8 and has thrown 10 touchdown passes with no interceptions. There's also running back Jonah Coleman, who, like Mullings, averages more than seven yards per carry and 100 rushing yards per game.

Michigan is perfectly capable of winning games by running the ball and defending hard. It's a recipe that has helped produce three straight Big Ten titles. The problem is that these Wolverines may be too one-dimensional on offense, giving up more than twice as many points per game (21.4) as they did last season (10.4).
