Laughrey's big run sets up FG, Illinois leads 3-0 after first drive

(Beginning 1st Quarter) Illinois starts at its own 25. Luke Altmyer completes his first pass to Collin Dixon for nine yards on first down, then Aidan Laughrey gets the final yard for first down. Laughrey gets another carry on the next play and scores a big 29-yard run for another first down in Michigan territory. After a Michigan offside penalty, it's first-and-5 and Pat Bryant catches a screen pass for a loss after a big tackle from Jyaire Hill. Altmyer fights his way three yards on second down, then his pass to Zakhari Franklin on third down is too high. David Olano hits the 47-yard field goal and Illinois takes an early lead. (12:07)

Start

Illinois will start with the ball wearing some retro jerseys with hand-painted helmets for the old-school look. Meanwhile, Michigan wears its white uniforms with blue pants.

preview

Michigan begins the second half of the season with a top-25 matchup against Illinois.

Jack Tuttle is headed to his first start under center and will look to jump-start a faltering passing attack for the No. 24 Wolverines, who are fresh off a bye and looking for their first road win of the season.

Michigan's run game will look to continue competing against an Illinois run defense that has given up a ton of yards in the last two games. On the other hand, the Wolverines will try to prevent explosive plays against a Fighting Illini offense led by quarterback Luke Altmyer, who has thrown at least three passing touchdowns in three games this season.

After a loss in Washington, Michigan will look to get back on track against No. 22 Illinois in its first ranked game at Memorial Stadium since 2000.
