Michigan's Loveland Rejects MSU After Argument: 'Lil Bro Keeps Doing Little Bro Things' | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

It's largely been a disappointing season for the Michigan Wolverines, but they earned the right to talk trash to their rivals after defeating Michigan State 24-17 on Saturday.

And they talked nonsense, especially after a fight broke out in the final seconds of the victory.

“Little bro, keep doing little bro things,” Michigan tight end Colston Loveland told Big Ten Network in his postgame interview (h/t Larry Lage of the Associated Press). “So, MSU is the little brother. They can do whatever they want. We knew it would be exciting and keep busy.”

Lage noted that Loveland was directly involved in the skirmish, as he and Michigan State defensive end Anthony Jones pushed each other before players from both teams came together.

“I told the team this was unacceptable,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said.

This is nothing new for these teams as they also struggled in the tunnel two years ago. As Lage noted, the Big Ten fined Michigan State $100,000 for the incident and publicly reprimanded Michigan for failing to provide enough protection with its tunnel structure.

As for Saturday, there were certainly some frustrations throughout the season that boiled over for both teams.

The Spartans are just 4-4 and have huge losses to Oregon and Ohio State on their resume. And the Wolverines won't be able to defend their national title after a 5-3 start with double-digit losses to Texas, Washington and Illinois.

Things probably won't get much better for Michigan, considering it still plays Oregon, Indiana and Ohio State in its final four games.

But Saturday's performance at least secured the state bragging rights, and Loveland made sure the Spartans were informed about it after the fact.
