Mickey Loomis' recent comments about Dennis Allen will only make Saints fans even angrier

The New Orleans Saints are currently 2-4 and have lost their last four games. The team is falling apart due to injuries and they just aren't playing good football. To make matters worse, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos come to town for a Thursday Night Football game. What was meant to be a celebration of Drew Brees could be an embarrassing evening for New Orleans.

Anyone who watches the Saints will tell you that head coach Dennis Allen is on the hot seat. In two seasons and six games, Allen's record in New Orleans is 18-22. He hasn't led the Saints to the playoffs yet and it doesn't look like he will this season. The worst part is that their defense is playing terribly right now.

That's why almost everyone can admit that they should be in the hot seat. One of the few people who can't admit this is Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Loomis has long been a staunch Allen supporter, and that hasn't changed despite the recent crash in New Orleans.

During an appearance Tuesday night on the WWL Coaches Show, Loomis was asked if the team needed to address the head coaching position based on New Orleans' performance. He responded that results are certainly important, but as an organization, New Orleans needs to look beyond results to find the real problems.

Loomis went on to say it's not always about the head coach; There are many variables that determine victory and defeat. However, he said that the team will look at the coach's position in due course, but now is not the right time to do so.

This is the same tune Loomis has been singing about Allen since he started comparing him to Bill Belichick and Chuck Noll. In Loomis' defense, however, he will not denigrate his head coach as long as he is still leading the team. Even if Loomis plans to leave Allen, he wouldn't tell the media.

However, that's not what fans are trying to hear. They're fed up with Allen and are ready to look away from him. At the very least, fans would want Mickey Loomis to publicly hold Allen accountable for his role in everything that went wrong.
