Mookie Betts lets fans rip the ball out of his glove in Game 4 of the Yankees-Dodgers

NEW YORK – Yankees fans are doing everything – I mean everything – in their power to help their team win the World Series.

In the bottom of the first inning, with the Yankees already down 2-0 in Game 4 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, Gleyber Torres threw a fly ball down the right field line.

As Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts jumped to take the catch along the wall, two fans tried to pry open the outfielder's glove to force a drop. One fan grabbed the glove while the other tried to keep Betts' right arm away.

The attempt didn't work.

Although the ball bounced free, head umpire Mark Carlson, who was manning right field, called for the fans, and the Yankees were out of the game for the first time.

Betts was annoyed by the fans' actions and glared at the wall as he made his way back to his spot in the outfield.

The Yankees had two runners on base after Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, but two straight ground outs ended their threat to get closer.
