Dauda completed a long, arduous journey to the pinnacle of bodybuilding on Saturday by winning the Mr. Olympia competition and defeating two former champions, Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford, to claim his first title.

When he was announced as the winner, he was emotional, fell to his knees and burst into tears before lifting his sport's most coveted prize.

It was a historic achievement even beyond the first victory.

Dauda's victory ensured the Mr Olympic title returned to Britain for the first time since the end of Dorian Yates' six-year reign at the top of the industry in 1997.

Saturday's results marked the second consecutive year that 2022 champion Choopan finished second. It also meant 2023 champions Lunsford dropped to third place this year.
