NBA TV's Sam Mitchell appears as co-host and shares his speech in an awkward segment

Things got awkward and awkward on set NBA Gametime Live during a conversation between hosts Chris Miles and Sam Mitchell.

It started innocently enough. A shot was shown of Golden State Warriors stars Draymond Green and Steph Curry along with their longtime coach Steve Kerr. Curry held his recent gold medal, which he won while helping lead the Team USA men's basketball team to victory at the Paris Olympics. While Curry won a gold medal, Kerr, who coached Team USA, did not have a gold medal. This is because Olympic Games coaches do not receive medals won by the teams or athletes they coach. This applies to all sports.

“The coaches don’t get medals,” Mitchell said. “I guess it just shows what international – how they value coaches. Not at all.”

“I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show,” Miles replied. “I think maybe you should do that pro bonomy friend.”

“You know, last time I looked at my check it was pretty close,” Mitchell replied. “So hey, I’m accepting donations.”

He then turned his attention to Miles.

“Why don’t you get some of the money you have?” Since you’re over there bragging about it,” Mitchell said.

“I’m not bragging,” Miles said with a laugh.

And then it started.

“Oh, I'm sorry. Did you rent out your beach house down in Florida during the hurricane? Or do I have to move on? How about your townhouse?”

“Hey, what's going on here, Sam?” Miles said, still laughing.

“You want to call me,” Mitchell replied. “I mean, come on. You scream broken and hungry. Let's just see it. You know, I know what you have and where you live, young guy. So you have to stop.”

“I think we have snitches on the show today. “His name is Sam Mitchell,” Miles replied.

“No, we don’t have any informants. We have fortune tellers,” Mitchell said. “So you're the one crying up here, poor and destitute, when – do I have to keep going? Or do you want me to stop now?”

“How about we go to that game between the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors?” Miles said.

“I told you, young guy, you have to stop messing with me on national television. I told you about it. Hey, do I have to give out the address? Because you're not home right now.

Although Mitchell didn't immediately provide Miles' address, he did later.
