New England Patriots fans remain hopeful after heavy defeat against Jets and 1-2 start to the season

FOXBORO – After another tough loss against the New York Jets On Thursday, New England Patriots fans are hopeful but remain divided about what the team should do now.

“It’s pretty gloomy”

“It's pretty grim, yeah, that was tough,” Patriots fan Shawn Power said of the 24-3 loss to the Jets.

“I'm just not used to this. I'm used to always winning! Now it's a little different,” said another fan.

Patriots fans aren't giving up hope, but they're not holding back either. After a 1-2 start to the season, fans admit they're starting to see reality.

“We need to improve our offense,” said Patriots fan Harrison Soep.

“It's an improvement over last year, they're getting ready for the games to come. But how many games do we have left this season?” Patriots fan Steve Findlay said. “It's a work in progress and that's all you can really ask for.”

Should the Patriots start Drake Maye?

And while some fans think it's time to start with Drake Maye, others say not so fast.

“We need Drake Maye, that’s the essence of last night’s game,” said one Patriots fan.

“Oh Brissettdefinitely,” Power said. “You saw it last night, Maye was used for four minutes and then sacked. That can kill his confidence.”

“That's the coach's decision, it's a difficult decision,” said Patriots fan Eileen Tuttle. “Because the new guy has to be there, but I think he needs a little more experience. So let's see what happens.”

As for predictions for the rest of the season, one fan said he would accept anything compared to last year.

“We've had 20 good years and I'm convinced it will happen again,” Tuttle said.
