Chaotic dashcam video captured the moment suspected insurance fraudsters collided with a motorist, seemingly faking their injuries before noticing a dashcam on the Belt Parkway in Queens.

Ashpia Natasha was driving on the three-lane parkway at 11 a.m. Wednesday when a silver Honda Accord crossed from the center lane into the left lane, cutting her off before the erratic driver slammed on the brakes, according to video of the accident. which was posted on TikTok.

The erratic driver turns on his hazard lights before hitting the accelerator and ramming the car into Natasha's front bumper.

“Oh my god, what is he doing?” Natasha screamed.

“I just had an accident, I don’t know what’s happening,” Natasha told her husband over the car’s speakerphone. “This guy just turned into me, what the fuck is going on?”

Natasha claims two backseat passengers used a “tarp” to cover the rear windshield so the male driver could swap seats with a female passenger.

Four occupants exited the Honda, appearing injured as they examined the damage to the bumper.

“I think the intent was to say I hit her car for insurance fraud,” Natasha said.

Attempted Insurance Fraud in Queens, NY 10/16/2024 PART 1 I was driving east in the left lane of the Belt Parkway toward the Southern State Parkway. The silver Honda (LBB 8917) was in the middle lane and they cut me off, slammed on the brakes and eventually came to a stop hoping I would hit them. I didn't hit their car and so they backed into my car and acted like they were hurt when they got out. I think the intent was to say I hit her car for insurance fraud. They had a tarp over the back window that fell off when they hit my car. You can see that the driver is a man wearing a hat, and you can see him move into the passenger seat and the car move before someone gets out. The first three passengers exit the car, pretending to be injured, while the fourth passenger, who was driving, slips out through the passenger seat and gets into a second vehicle. The second vehicle was a red KIA SUV (KJH 3340) that followed me from behind, keeping my distance so they wouldn't hit me. The red KIA spun around and picked up the driver to get away. The behavior of the remaining three people changed when one of them noticed the dashcam. They only got out of the car with their cell phones to record the damage to both cars. They quickly asked about my insurance and quickly left after the exchange. I called the police at the time of the incident and reported that it was an accident. The police told me that if no one was injured and they were willing to share information, there would be no more accidents. I didn't realize at the time that the driver had changed and moved into another car or that it was a tampering as I was driving alone and everything happened so quickly. #queensny #car #car accident #exposed #newyork #brooklynny @nbcnews @abcnews @nypd @geico @allstate @pix11ny

A red Kia that had been chasing Natasha pulled up to the scene and picked up the suspected male driver before driving away.

Natasha recalled that the behavior of the remaining three passengers changed after they discovered their dashcam.

“They came out of the car with only their mobile phones to record the damage to both cars. They quickly asked about my insurance and left quickly after the exchange.”

The male passenger spoke to Natasha and explained that his wife was driving and did not speak English.

“They exchanged my driver's license, insurance, registration and everything else very quickly, so I didn't even think about it,” she said in a follow-up video.

Natasha had asked the remaining passengers if they could wait for her husband to show up, but they said they had to “leave immediately to pick up their baby.”

When a tow truck came to check Natasha's car, the other passengers took the opportunity to get back in their car and leave.

“I’m not sure if they targeted me because of my car or if they saw that I was driving alone,” Natasha said. “They haven’t really followed me for a long time. It seemed like everything happened very quickly. It definitely seemed like this had been planned for some time. Definitely not the first time.”

The frustrated driver says she only realized the driver change or that it was a “coordination” when she watched the video again as she was driving alone and “everything happened so quickly.”

Natasha says she called the NYPD to report the accident but was told that police would not show up to accidents unless there were injuries and both parties were willing to share information.
