Northern lights could be visible in WA on Thursday evening

People living in Western Washington were able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on Thursday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle has predicted a possible G4 magnetic storm. The celestial event will give viewers the chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, commonly known as the Northern Lights, from Thursday evening through early Friday morning.

According to the NWS, the weather is expected to cooperate and skies will be mostly clear.

A G4 magnetic storm is classified as “severe” on the space weather scale and can cause disruption to satellite operations and power systems. However, such geomagnetic events also increase the likelihood that auroras will be visible at lower latitudes than usual.

Residents wishing to participate in Northern Lights viewing are advised to find locations away from the city lights for the best viewing experience. Watching the Northern Lights is often on the bucket list for many, and the expected clear skies could provide a great opportunity for an unforgettable sight.
