OTT release of Deadpool and Wolverine announced: Can you watch it in India?

The wait is finally over! If you haven't been able to see Deadpool and Wolverine in the theater yet, you can now enjoy this superhero film at home! The Marvel blockbuster will make its digital debut on October 1st.

Deadpool & Wolverine is coming to OTT

Starting today, October 1, Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to stream in India. Indian viewers can watch the film on Disney+ Hotstar, where all MCU films are currently available, and this is also expected to be added. However, no official statement from the platform has reportedly been released yet. Meanwhile, viewers outside India can watch the film via Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) on Amazon Prime Video. For international viewers, it is also available on Apple TV+ and VUDU.

Directed by director Shawn Levy, the film broke box office records and achieved notable financial success at home and abroad. In India, Deadpool & Wolverine collected an impressive Rs 66.15 crore in its opening weekend. It started strong at Rs 21 crore on Friday, rose to Rs 22.65 crore on Saturday and saw a slight decline to Rs 22.50 crore on Sunday.

In North America, the film grossed an astounding $205 million in its opening weekend, marking the highest grossing of any R-rated film in history. This figure surpassed the previous record set by Joker, which premiered in 2019 and ultimately grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

Deadpool & Wolverine is shaping up to be a monumental success, thriving in theaters and now on streaming platforms, ensuring Marvel fans around the world won't have to wait long to enjoy this latest blockbuster. In India, Deadpool & Wolverine has excelled, amassing Rs 129.20 crore within the first 19 days. The mix of humor, exciting action and the return of popular characters like Wolverine has contributed significantly to its success in various markets.

The film marks the first time that Deadpool and Wolverine appear together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, ownership of both characters was handed over to Marvel Studios, officially integrating these popular anti-heroes into the MCU. Prior to this event, Fox had produced two separate Deadpool films starring Ryan Reynolds, both of which were hugely successful at the box office.
