Panthers vs. Bears Week 5 Preview

CHICAGO, IL. (BLACK & BLUE KICKOFF LIVE) – For the second year in a row, Andy Dalton is playing against one of his former teams. This week the Panthers travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Bears.

Despite losing to the Bengals in Week 4, the Panthers have put up at least 30 points in consecutive games, something they haven't done since Weeks 5 and 6 in 2019 (five years ago!). The offense is definitely improving and is led by Dalton, who has 539 passing yards, five passing touchdowns and just one interception in two starts. Accordingly NFL.comHe currently has a QB rating of 101.4, which is second only to the 2015 season (106.2) in his career.

The Bears' offense, on the other hand, hasn't had a great season so far, which should help an injured Panthers defense. The Bears rank in the bottom five in QB rating as measured by passing yards per attempt, rushing yards and yards per carry.

The Panthers are 4-8 in 12 previous games against the Bears. Carolina has lost the last three games and six of the last seven games, including 16-13 last year, also in Chicago.

Sunday's Week 5 game between the Panthers and Bears from Solider Field begins at 1 p.m. on FOX Charlotte.
