Passenger falls overboard on Taylor Swift-style cruise

A search is ongoing for a passenger who fell overboard on a Royal Caribbean Taylor Swift-style cruise in the Bahamas, officials said.

The passenger, a 66-year-old woman, went overboard around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the US Coast Guard said in a statement.

The woman fell from the ship Allure of the Seas while it was 17 miles north of Nassau in the Bahamas, the Coast Guard said.

An HC-144 aircraft crew and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Miami assisted in the search, the agency said.

Teams from the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and the US Coast Guard were still searching for the missing woman on Wednesday morning. The Coast Guard is supporting the RBDF in this case.

Hundreds of Taylor Swift fans, or “Swifties,” left Miami on Monday on the Allure of the Seas as part of a fan-sponsored event.

The aptly named cruise group “In My Cruise Era” was put together by three travel agents and fans of Swift, according to the group's website.

According to the website, Swifties' agenda on the cruise includes friendship bracelet making, Taylor trivia and “Eras”-style outfit nights.

Videos shared on TikTok showed Swifties on the ship looking overboard after the woman fell.

The group also has another Taylor-themed cruise planned for next February.

It was not immediately clear whether the woman who fell overboard was part of the group.

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson told the Post that they were cooperating with local authorities in their search efforts.

“We also support and support the guest’s family during this difficult time. “To respect the privacy of our guests’ families, we cannot provide any further details,” the spokesperson said.

Further details about the missing passenger were initially not known.
