Police report offers new details on Patriots violations against Christian Barmore

New England Patriots defensive star Christian Barmore announced on social media that he was pulled over for a traffic violation, and a police report detailed what happened early Wednesday morning in Providence.

Barmore posted on social media about an alleged racist incident at Providence Police. According to WPRO's Kevin McNamara, a Providence Police report revealed that Barmore's unregistered Jeep was stopped at 12:53 a.m. ET. Barmore was cited for driving with an expired license plate and license plate violations. The Jeep was towed and Barmore left the scene in another vehicle. Registration expired last week.

Providence police alleged that Barmore “had an attitude toward police and handed out papers in an 'aggressive manner,'” the WPRO said. Police Chief Oscar Perez claimed officers “fully complied with department protocols and state regulations.”

There have been several lawsuits and alleged allegations against the Providence Police Department in recent years, including from former officers of racial abuse. Perez encouraged Barmore to speak with Providence police to address any questions or concerns.

Head coach Jerod Mayo told reporters in his press conference on Wednesday that the Patriots were aware of the incident and had spoken to Barmore about it. The team did not provide any further information.
