Pop star Troye Sivan's family home in Dianella is for sale

Long before Troye Sivan was on the cover of Rolling Stone and garnering fans as a global superstar, he was a child posting his songs to YouTube from his bedroom in Dianella.

And now this piece of music history is up for grabs: His parents Laurelle and Shaun Mellet are putting the family home up for sale after 20 years of ownership.

Real estate agent and family friend Erit David, who is looking for offers on the house, has witnessed Sivan's meteoric rise.

“Troye started his music and film career in his bedroom – filming his vlogs from his room,” she said.

“I was there when he posted his first YouTube video in his school uniform over 14 years ago in the downstairs study while his brothers and sister gathered around him.

“He often thinks back to his childhood, where Majestic Reserve played a big role in his social life and the house itself was a magical family home, with space to be together and space to be apart.”

Sivan, who has also achieved success as an actor and model, has since achieved career highlights such as an appearance with Taylor Swift.

But while his talent has taken him around the world, the 29-year-old once said the most powerful moment of his life was in the Dianella house, when he came out as gay in a YouTube video in 2013.

The house was also the place where he began his acting career. His mother filmed an audition tape in the house that landed him the role of young Logan in Hugh Jackman's Wolverine film, which was released in theaters in 2008.

Since then he has played alongside the likes of Sir Ian McKellan, John Cleese and Nicole Kidman.

Ms David said Sivan, GQ Australia's reigning Man of the Year and 2023 ARIA Song of the Year winner for Rush, now lives between Melbourne and the US but has made regular visits home over the years.

He will next perform in Perth in November where he will perform at the Spilled Milk House Party in November.

His family moved to Melbourne a few years ago but used the house as a base in Perth during regular visits. The current tenants are scheduled to move out in January.

The architecturally designed six-bedroom, two-bathroom home has a Mediterranean atmosphere and is located on 807 sqm in the Dress Circle Estate, 10 km from the city.

The home is spread over three levels and features two kitchens, parking for four cars, multiple living areas, uninterrupted city views and a pool.

Interestingly, buyers will have the opportunity to purchase the family furniture as part of the sale, meaning fans may end up with more memorabilia than they bargained for.
