Real Madrid's best and worst players win comeback against Borussia Dortmund

Real Madrid made the dramatic comeback we've come to expect from them in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos were in dire straits in the first half of their clash with Borussia Dortmund, conceding extremely avoidable goals from Donyell Malen and Jamie Gittens, and were also close to conceding a third goal, with Thibaut Courtois coming to the rescue to pass to Julian Brandt parry.

However, in the final 30 minutes of the game, Madrid came back confidently, scoring five unanswered goals to secure a 5-2 win on the night and pick up a much-needed three points in the Champions League.

Here are Madrid's best and worst performing players in their victory over BVB at the Santiago Bernabeu 90 minutes Player ratings.

Vinicius Junior: 10/10

Who else?

Vinicius Junior proved why he is the favorite to win the Ballon d'Or next week with a simply superb performance on Tuesday evening.

In the final 30 minutes of the game, the Brazilian megastar went Super Saiyan and scored to make it 2-2, before scoring two incredible solo tries – one of which came after an 80-yard run with the ball.

Surely he'll win the Ballon d'Or, right?

Honorable mention

Kylian Mbappe: 7/10

After social media heavily criticized him for his performance in the first half of the game, Mbappe came out in the second half with a real fire in his belly.

He certainly didn't score, but he was a constant attacking threat for Madrid and one of the main reasons why they were able to pin Dortmund back on defense for long stretches.

The French star also set up Madrid's first goal with a superb cross to the head of Antonio Rüdiger. Nice.

Real Madrid's worst player against Borussia Dortmund

Ferland Mendy: 4/10

To say the least, Ferland Mendy was on top of his game for both Borussia Dortmund goals in the first half.

The full-back let Donyell Malen through unhindered to score the first goal, but then didn't close the Dutch international well enough to prevent his cross from scoring the second goal.

It's easy to see why Madrid have been so heavily linked with a move for Alphonso Davies…
