Riley Keough jokes about having 'a few stepdads' as a child, including Michael Jackson: 'They would come and go'

Riley Keough's life has been anything but average, which is no surprise since she is the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley – and granddaughter of Elvis Presley. However, Keough remembered her late mother's marriage to Michael Jackson as one of the more “normal” parts of her life.

The Daisy Jones and the Six Star stopped by this morning's episode of The view to promote Lisa Marie's posthumous memoir From here to the great unknown, which Keough finished writing after her mother's death in 2023.

The book covers Lisa Marie's life, from the loss of her father at a young age to her marriage to Jackson.

“You were six years old then. What memories do you have of having Michael Jackson as a stepfather?” Sunny Hostin asked Keough, who immediately quipped, “I've had a few stepfathers.”

The co-hosts burst into laughter as Keough joked, “You know, they came and went. Just kidding.”

Seriously, Keough remembered her mother's marriage to the King of Pop as “pretty normal.”

“I realize that my life has not been normal for other people,” she added. “But for my experience and my reality, it was completely normal.”

Lisa Marie was married to four different men over the course of her short life, including Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage. She reportedly dedicated a large portion of her upcoming memoir to Jackson, to whom she was married from 1994 to 1996.

The singer recalled feeling “so happy” when she was married to Jackson, who took her to Disney World every other day. “There was an energy, something truly remarkable about him, something I have never seen or felt in my entire life, except in my father,” Lisa Marie wrote, according to an excerpt she received USA today. “I fell in love with him because he was normal.”

The view airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
