Royals-Yankees ALDS Game 2: Starting players, lineups announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Fans will have to pay attention Monday night if they hope to watch every Kansas City Royals and Chiefs game.

First pitch for Game 2 of the ALDS at Yankee Stadium is scheduled for 6:38 p.m. CT.

KANSAS CITY ROYALS

Cole Ragans is set to take the mound for the Royals. His last start was Tuesday against the Orioles in the Wild Card Series. Ragans left the team early with cramps in his left calf.

Ragans have already started one game at Yankee Stadium this season. He allowed two runs in six innings on September 11th.

The Royals bullpen had a lot of work to do in Game 1 on Saturday. The closed day on Sunday means they should be available again on Monday evening.

Lucas Erceg is expected to continue taking on closer duties for the Royals.

NEW YORK YANKEES

Carlos Rodon is expected to start for the Yankees. According to MLB.com, Rodón was 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in two starts against the Royals this season.

He has postseason experience, appearing in two previous playoff games with the White Sox in 2020 and 2021.
