Sam Mitchell expresses anger at co-host over salary comment and threat

Retired forward Sam Mitchell took his talents to television after a disappointing one-year tenure as coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Now Mitchell is also on thin ice with his role on NBA television. On set he spoke to his co-host Sam Miles NBA Gametime Live when Miles made a joke about salary.

“I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show,” Miles joked. “You know, I think you might want to volunteer, my friend.”

Then Mitchell walked away.

“Last time I looked at my check, it was pretty close,” Mitchell began. “So hey, I’m accepting donations. Why don't you take some of the money you've gotten since you were bragging about it over there? Oh, I'm sorry, did you rent out your beach house down in Florida while you were there?” Hurricane, or how about your townhouse? Do you want to call me?

“I know what you have and where you live, young guy, so you have to stop,” Mitchell said. “You are the one crying up here, poor and destitute. Do I have to keep going or do you want me to stop? I told you, young fella, you’re going to stop messing with me” on national television. I told you about it. Do I have to give out the address because you're not home right now?

Mitchell, the former Wolves striker, has yet to receive a penalty or react to the sequence.
