Samantha Irvin announces WWE departure

The end of an announcing era has come for WWE.

Monday Night Raw announcer Samantha Irvin announced on both her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts that her time as a Raw announcer and with WWE has come to an end.

“WWE Universe, my time as your Monday Night Raw ring announcer has come to an end,” the statement read. “I love you all more than anything and that doesn’t mean the end of my art, I still have a lifetime to share with you.”

The statement thanked the Women's Locker Room, crew, cameramen and superstars. Irvin also specifically called out Paul Heyman, Michael PS Hayes and Michael Cole in her statement, stating, “I will continue to apply what I have learned from you to every aspect of my career.”

Irvin joined the company in 2021 and was hired as a ring announcer for WWE “205 Live.” In January 2022, she was permanently transferred to “Friday Night SmackDown”, replacing outgoing ring announcer Greg Hamilton. Irvin then moved to Raw in February 2023.

Irvin's fiancé Ricochet left WWE in June and signed with AEW in August, appearing during the Casino Gauntlet match at All In.

Irvin's statement did not specify her next steps in her career, whether she would join Ricochet in AEW or if she would quit wrestling altogether. Her statement ended with a cryptic but optimistic message: “To my fans, I have waited for you my entire career!” We are meant to be and I can prove it. Stay tuned.”

This is a developing story.
