“Sand in My Boots” will be released in 2025

The three-day event will take place May 16-18 on the beaches of Gulf Shores

Morgan Wallen is getting into the music festival business. The country musician has announced his debut festival, Sand in My Boots, which will premiere in Alabama next year. The event will feature a curated lineup of artists who will take the stage on the sands of Gulf Shores beaches May 16-18, 2025.

“Morgan Wallen is here to share with you some exciting news that me and my team have been working on for some time,” the singer shared in a social post. “We're heading south to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and I'm bringing some good friends with me. Mark your calendar for May 16-18, 2025 for the Sand In My Boots Fest. Stay tuned and we will provide you with more information soon!”

Sand in My Boots is being developed in collaboration with Hangout Festival, both produced by AEG Presents, which also manages California country festival Stagecoach. “Hosting a festival with Morgan was a dream come true… and one of the most fun I’ve ever had booking a show,” Stacy Vee, Goldenvoice EVP and Stagecoach producer, shared in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans to experience one of the most diverse and electrifying line-ups and on-site experiences the world has ever seen.”

On trend

Wallen joins a wave of musicians linking their name and commitment to festival-level events. In 2019, Pharrell Williams launched his Something in the Water Festival, which took place on the sand in Virginia Beach. The event hasn't quite taken off yet, having to deal with harsh weather in its first year and scheduling conflicts in other parts. Jay-Z, J. Cole, Yungblud, Drake and others have also headlined their own festivals.

Wallen has never created a music festival before, but has headlined a few. The country artist was a headliner at this year's Stagecoach Festival, BST Hyde Park, Carolina Country Music Fest and more.
