The 2024 edition of Sick New World was co-headlined by System of a Down and Slipknot. System of a Down also co-headlined the festival's opening event alongside Korn.

In conversation with metal hammer Earlier this year, SOAD frontman Serj Tankian recalled how the headliner at the first Sick New World fest really touched him.

“As I saw on the Sick New World stage last year, the cross-generational appeal of the music we made is overwhelming,” he said. “Our music is more timeless than we ever imagined, and that is the greatest compliment to any artist.”

“I really enjoyed Sick New World last year and when the opportunity came up again this year I said I would like to do it.”

In conversation with Classic rock Jerry Cantrell recently appeared in Magazine magazine to be equally excited about playing with Alice in Chains at the 2024 event.

“To hold a group together and create a repertoire and a body of work over a period of 30 to 40 years and still care about it yourself and make sure people care about it is pretty amazing,” the guitarist said. “That's the goal: you want to be the Stones, you want to be Metallica, you want to be Heart, to make music that people might pass on. I think we’ve achieved that with Alice and it’s really humbling and a bloody honour.”
