Keira D'Amatothe former fastest American female runner of all time, has an exceptional track record in long-distance events. The 39-year-old still holds the fastest U.S. women's half marathon time of 1:06:39, set on Australia's Gold Coast in 2023, while her best time in the 42.195km race is an impressive 2:19:12 , which she achieved in Houston in 2022.

This year, D'Amato will have quick support at her side as she revealed that her pacesetter for the Chicago Marathon will be none other than the 1500m gold medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics Matthew Centrowitz. Can adding to her crew on race day catapult D'Amato to glory in the Windy City? Everything will be announced on Sunday.

Betsy Saina

Born in Kenya, Betsy Saina She has now received US citizenship and is one of the favorites to be the fastest American woman in this year's women's Chicago Marathon. Saina became a mother in 2021 but has since gone from strength to strength, becoming the fastest American marathon runner in 2023. While she dreams of making the Olympic team Paris 2024 were not realized, she enters this year's showpiece Chicago Marathon with one of the fastest times among all U.S. runners, with a personal best of 2:19:17 set at the 2024 Tokyo Marathon.

Sarah Hall

A fan favorite and former American marathon record holder, Sarah Hall has extensive experience in elite marathon running, including a third place finish at the 2021 Chicago Marathon.

Perhaps her most memorable performance was at the 2021 London Marathon, where she delivered a stunning full sprint finish in the British capital to secure second place.

At 41, Hall will be one of the older members of the elite field, but she shows little sign of slowing down. She placed fifth in the 2024 Olympic marathons and finished the Boston Marathon in April of this year as the second-fastest American finisher with a time of 2:27:58.
