St. Edward welcomes Massillon, a nationally ranked high school in Ohio

Ohio's two best high school football teams meet Friday night when St. Edward hosts Massillon.

St. Edward is the top high school team on the SI Ohio Power 25, with Massillon at No. 2. In high school sports on the SI National Power 25 this week, St. Edward is No. 20 and Massillon is No. 22.

Massillon has defeated the Eagles each of the past two seasons, including a 15-13 home victory last season. St. Edward had won the two previous meetings between the teams.

Both teams won state championships last season: St. Edward won its third consecutive Division I state title and Massillon captured its first state title since 1972 with a victory in the Division II state championship game.
