The Blues have a lot of new faces, including a bit of sandpaper. F Radek Faksa gives the team a little toughness, and D Philip Broberg and F Dylan Holloway were nice additions from the Edmonton Oilers. St. Louis is looking to bounce back after missing the postseason, and it's a good bet to be much better.

The Kraken still has a pretty solid young core, including F Matty Beniersbut he took a big step backwards last season. The Kraken made some nice additions with F Chandler Stephenson front and Ds Josh Mahura And Brandon Montour at the back end to replace the departed DS Brian Dumoulin and Justin Schultz.

Binnington has been a slow starter in recent seasons, but against Seattle could be just what the doctor ordered to get him back to winning ways. He was 2-0-0 with a 1.88 GAA and a .940 SV% in two starts against Seattle in the 2023-24 season.

Grubauer did not face the Blues in Seattle's three losses to St. Louis last season. However, he didn't play particularly well against the Blues as he had a GAA of 2.96 and a SV of .896, which was statistically worse than his performances away from home. For some reason he just doesn't feel comfortable with CPA.

The BLUE (+120) are worth a dice roll on the money line based primarily on last season's series. St. Louis was 3-3 against the Kraken in the 2023-24 season (-145), and St. Louis is 7-2 in 9 all-time meetings, including 3-1 in the 4 Pacific Northwest meetings.

Puck Line/Against the Spread

The Blues +1.5 (-210) will cost you more than twice your potential return, and that's far too big a risk when you need a little insurance.

St. Louis went 10-5 against Seattle last season, but their only meeting at Climate Pledge Arena ended in overtime, so be careful.

Over/Under

UNDER 5.5 (+100) is worth a look at even-money.

The total was low in two of the three meetings last season, and the early puck drop at 1:30 p.m. PDT is also negatively impacting the team's offense.

And again, Binnington had a 1.88 GAA against the Kraken last season, so don't expect the Seattle offense to let him shine.
