Stree 2 on OTT: Rajkummar-Shraddha's film gets mixed reviews but internet loves Akshay Kumar's cameo; regard

After Stree (2018), Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao made audiences wait for six long years before returning to theaters again with the sequel Street 2. The horror-comedy went on to become a blockbuster hit and became the highest-grossing Hindi film domestically. For a while, netizens were divided over whether Shraddha deserved the praise Street 2 Success or Rajkummar aka Vicky. Ultimately, the credit goes to the entire team, especially the iconic cameos from Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia. Now the horror comedy has arrived on the digital platform. But unfortunately the reviews this time are not all positive.

Some viewers enjoyed watching Street 2but many others felt the film was overrated, contrary to initial reviews that sent many fans flocking to theaters. For example, a Twitter review shared today said: “#Stree2 What a flop movie 🤦🏼‍♂️, I can't understand how its super hit full of over the top, pointless dialogues, no story, third rated comedy 🤦🏼‍♂️🙏 🏻” while another disgruntled social media user shared: “I just watched season 2. It's just a very average story with lame comedy and dialogues. It lasts 135 minutes and 90 minutes of it are subpar. The story has no depth and is very predictable. I am once again very disappointed with Bollywood. I give it 5 out of 10.” However, Akshay has once again won hearts.

Fans just can't get enough of Akshay's cameo as Sarkata's progeny and his unexpectedly great chemistry with Abhishek Banerjee aka Jana. One happy fan praised the scene, which was one of the film's biggest highlights: “The expression in this scene is priceless! #AkshayKumar sir and #AbhishekBanerjee's comedic timing is absolutely on point and makes it a standout moment. #Stree2 😂🔥.”

Well, ever since Akshay's cameo was revealed, many fans have been hoping that he would take the horror-comedy universe forward as the offspring of Sarkata. With all the love he is receiving for the cameo, we believe the makers should seriously consider this idea suggested by fans. Don't you agree?
