Pleasant Friday. Temperatures will return to 80 degrees on Saturday

Friday will see sunny skies again and temperatures will still be cooler, although it's worth noting that our highs in the 60s to near 70 degrees are actually still several degrees above normal.

On Saturday the very warm air will flow back into the region. In southern Minnesota, high temperatures will again be around 80 degrees.

In addition to the very warm temperatures, it will be very windy again. Winds will be howling at 15-25 mph with stronger gusts coming from the south and southwest. This, combined with low relative humidity levels in the afternoon, will result in critical fire weather conditions again.

Forecast wind speed and direction for Saturday afternoon with stronger gusts

National Weather Service

Our third cold front of the week will move through late Saturday, triggering a few showers in a few lucky spots in northeastern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the timing and speed of the front means most will receive nothing, and even those that do receive some rain will receive modest amounts. Temperatures will briefly drop again on Sunday and Monday before warming back up to levels well above normal.
