Sydney Sweeney comically responds to a college football fan's sign asking for her number

Sydney Sweeney will not recall the University of Oregon's football mascot despite certain requests.

Before the Oregon Ducks' football game on Saturday, October 12, against the Ohio State University Buckeyes, High potential star Kaitlin Olson was selected as a guest ESPN picker. Olson, an Oregon graduate herself, had been talking about her excitement for the game when the Ducks' mascot photobombed her on camera.

“Sydney Sweeney, call me back,” the mascot’s sign read.

Sweeney, 27, saw the televised request and responded subtly on her Instagram Story.

It's unknown if Sweeney saw the game, but Olson, 49, was thrilled about the day.

“Guys, this is my college. That’s right, that’s my place,” Olson quipped, referring to the University of Oregon. “I love it here. I went to college here, my family went to college here, I lost my virginity here – sorry, Dad – (and) my fake ID was taken away (at the local bar) … Oregon Ducks, definitely ! She added: “I choose Oregon. I'm not betting against primetime, and speaking of primetime, my new show High potential airs on ABC in prime time Tuesdays at 10 a.m..”

Olson's prediction ended up being correct as the Ducks defeated the Buckeyes 32-31.

Olson, best known for her role in It's always sunny in Philadelphianow leads ABC's crime drama High potential. She was initially hesitant about showing episodes to her husband. Rob McElhenney. (Olson and McElhenney have been married since 2008 and have two sons together.)

“We are both very critical of entertainment and projects. I was very nervous to show him,” Olson exclusively shared Us weekly at the September premiere of High potential in Los Angeles. “He loved it. I wouldn’t be lying if I didn’t say it’s a huge relief.”

She continued at the time: “When he liked it too, I thought, 'Okay, we have something great here.' Honestly, (I) didn't want anything to do with an hour long drama, but when I read it I liked it so much. I thought the character was great. I love a well-written, absolutely fascinating crime drama.”
