Tennessee becomes the fourth top-10 team to lose in Week 6

Upset Saturday is here for the 2024 season.

Tennessee is the latest casualty in Week 6, falling to Arkansas 19-14 on Saturday night in Fayetteville. It's a stunning defeat for the No. 4 team in the country considering how dominant they have been up to this point in the season.

Arkansas took the lead with more than a minute left, giving the Vols time to march down the field and potentially win the game. But the Razorbacks were able to make a stop in the final seconds of the game and claim one of their most memorable victories in recent program history.

However, Tennessee is far from the only team to lose in shocking fashion this weekend. No. 1 Alabama, No. 9 Missouri and No. 10 Michigan all lost this weekend. Even teams outside the top 10 weren't safe, as No. 11 USC fell to Minnesota. The Tide, Wolverines and Trojans all lost to unranked opponents on Saturday.

There could be more carnage this weekend – Tennessee's loss came as No. 10 Miami was still struggling against Cal in the first half of the game.

Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon and Penn State are the only top 10 teams to win this week (the Miami result is still pending). Each of these teams is expected to advance in the next edition of the AP Top 25, which will be released Sunday afternoon. The same goes for Texas, which was idle in Week 6.
