Tennessee vs. Florida: Voluntary top performers

Tennessee shut out the Florida Gators as they defeated Florida 23-17 in overtime. Many players played great here.

Here are the top performers and players in the Vols' overtime win.

Sampson was the SuperMan the Vols needed in this game. He finished the day with not one touchdown, not two touchdowns, but three touchdowns, including the final score of the game that put the Vols in the win column. Sampson totaled 112 yards as he averaged 4.1 yards per carry. Sampson accounted for 18 of the 23 points scored, so it's easy to assume that this result could have gone the other way without the star back.

Carter was forced to step up after Keenan Pili left the game with an injury early in the first quarter. The Vols linebacker would have arguably the biggest play of the game as he would get an interception on Florida quarterback DJ Lagway that set up a play that equated to the Vols field goal.

The outstanding lead would offset several TFLs and sacks as he played behind the line of scrimmage for most of the contest. Pearce would also have a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the red zone, which is comparable to the Carter interception in terms of turnovers.

This was White's resurrection game as he had his best performance of the season. He was the leading receiver for Nico Iamaleava and finished the day with 71 yards on 5 catches. The Vols lost White to injury last week against the Razorbacks, and fortunately for the Vols, he returned and had his best game of the season.
