The 49ers have limited injury updates the day after their Week 5 loss

The San Francisco 49ers are dealing with injuries following their loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

Unfortunately, there were limited updates on injuries in the game Monday morning. Head coach Kyle Shanahan typically speaks to reporters on a conference call Monday afternoon, but his call was moved to Monday morning due to the shortened week due to the 49ers' Thursday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Shanahan confirmed that kicker Jake Moody is dealing with a high ankle sprain. It's unclear exactly how much time he will miss. Moody rolled up his ankle late in the first half of Sunday's game while trying to make a tackle on special teams.

Strong safety Talanoa Hufanga also left the game with a wrist injury and was sidelined shortly after heading to the locker room. Shanahan said specific updates on Hufanga would not come until later Monday.

For players who were not there on Sunday, the short week could make it difficult to return.

Linebacker Demetrius Flanningan-Fowles missed the game with a calf injury and is unlikely to play again on Thursday, according to Shanahan.

Wide receivers Jacob Cowing (shoulder) and Chris Conley (oblique) are still in action. Both players missed Sunday's game.

Shanahan also said first-round pick Ricky Pearsall's practice window will not be open during the short week. He is continuing his rehab after being shot in the chest the week before the season began.

Running back Christian McCaffrey will also continue his rehab.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, who was placed on IR on Saturday, underwent knee surgery and will be out four to eight weeks. The club were hoping he would be able to overcome the injury he sustained in pre-season without surgery, but there are hopes he will return this season.
