The San Francisco 49ers have bolstered their safety depth by adding veteran Adrian Amos to the practice squad. The team is currently thin at the position with Talanoa Hufanga recently placed on injured reserve and Malik Mustapha sidelined with an ankle injury in last week's win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Mustapha did not take part in Monday's training, leaving Ji'Ayir Brown and George Odum to take the majority of the reps.

Originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round out of Penn State in the 2015 NFL Draft, Amos has since played for the Bears, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Houston Texans. In 2022, he recorded a career-high 102 tackles with the Packers, including seven tackles for a loss, two quarterback hits, one interception and one sack.

Amos has played in 142 games in his nine NFL seasons, including 125 as a starter. Over his career, he has accumulated 664 tackles, 10 interceptions, one touchdown, six sacks, 49 passes defended and three forced fumbles.
