Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin was carted off the field late in Thursday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

After the game, head coach Todd Bowles told reporters there were early signs that Godwin had suffered an ankle dislocation. Bowles added that it “doesn’t look good.”

The wideout had an air cast placed on his left leg as he left the field:

#Bucs WR Chris Godwin suffered what appeared to be a scary lower leg injury and the ESPN broadcast declined to show another replay.
Godwin was carted away with an air cast on his leg.

Godwin had seven catches for 65 yards before the injury and had to shoulder a larger load because Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury early in the game.

The veteran started the week with 43 catches for 511 yards and five touchdowns.

Godwin played in all 17 games of the 2023 season and led the Bucs with 83 receptions while ranking second on the team with 1,024 receiving yards. He caught two touchdown passes and added a rushing score. It was his third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign and the fourth of his career.

The 28-year-old suffered a torn ACL and ACL near the end of the 2021 season, but still managed to get fit for Week 1 of the 2022 season. He picked up right where he left off as one of Tampa Bay's most important offensive players, appearing in 15 games and recording a career-high 104 catches along with 1,023 yards and three touchdowns.

If Godwin misses time, star wide receiver Mike Evans will be even more of a threat in the passing attack. Sterling Shepard would also likely get more volume, and players like Trey Palmer and Jalen McMillan will see more action on the field.
