The Buffalo Bills quarterback's head bounces off the turf

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen suffered a blow and went to the medical tent on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Allen was knocked to the ground by his legs and his head bounced off the turf after throwing an incomplete pass in the fourth quarter.

Allen remained on his side, rolled onto his back and was attended to by medical staff. He pointed to his chest and went into the medical tent with trainers and a neurotrauma consultant to be examined.

The Bills' defense recovered a strip sack on CJ Stroud at the Texans' 15-yard line while Allen was being watched. Backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky came into the game for one play and handed the ball to James Cook for no gain. Allen came back out of the tent, put on his helmet and went back into the game. He threw two incompletions and Tyler Bass hit a 33-yard field goal to tie the game with 3:18 left in the fourth quarter.

Allen threw three more incompletions in the final minute. The Bills lost 23-20 on a 59-yard walk-off field goal by Ka'imi Fairbairn.

Allen said after the game that an independent certified athletic trainer, acting as a locker room observer, asked to evaluate him for a concussion.

“Big shot to the chest. Twisted my ankle,” Allen told reporters after the game. “They reported me for hitting my head, but they felt well enough to go back in.”

It's Allen's second straight week with an injury scare. He was slow to get back to his feet after losing a fumble against the Baltimore Ravens. Allen said after the loss to Baltimore that his lower back aggravated upon hitting the ground but that he would be fine.
