The Celtics did their best, firing 13 shots from 3-point range to break the NBA record for 3s in a game – and missed them all. In the end, all defending champions were able to help their 132-109 victory over the New York Knicks Tuesday night saw the record 29 3s made by Milwaukee set in 2020.

Payton Pritchard was the master mason, missing five from distance. Sam Hauser missed three, Tillman missed two and Jordan Walsh missed one. Boston finished 29 of 61 from 3-point range.

“When we tied, I thought, 'We're one point away from the record,'” White said. “I shouldn't have said anything. It's a bit of a no-hitter, right? I blame myself.”
