The Inter Milan captain quickly returns to training despite fears of injury in the Champions League duel against Red Star

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez quickly returned to training despite a minor injury scare against Red Star Belgrade.

This is what the Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports about FCInter1908. They report that the Argentine has gone straight back to work ahead of this weekend's Serie A clash against Torino.

Inter captain Martinez did not appear in the Champions League against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.

However, the Argentinean came off the bench in the second half.

It was an eventful substitute appearance for Martinez.

The Inter captain scored the Nerazzurri's third goal in a 4-0 win. He benefited from good work from Mehdi Taremi to create a chance and then finished the game brilliantly.

This means Martinez has now scored in each of his last two games for Inter.

The 27-year-old had caused a few worries because he went without points in several games in a row at the start of the season.

This goal drought was coupled with an obvious lack of fitness and sharpness. Martinez did not have a proper pre-season for Inter as he only returned to training late after the Copa America in the summer.

Martinez didn't just score against Red Star. He also saved his team the penalty with which Mehdi Taremi scored the fourth goal of the evening.

But then there was a sour note on an otherwise very positive evening for Martinez.

The Inter captain appeared to be clearly unwell towards the end of the game.

Martinez could see the match. However, he appeared to be limping after finding himself at the end of a tough challenge.

This obviously worries Inter. The Nerazzurri will hardly want to be without their captain, who already missed a Serie A clash against Lecce earlier this season.

However, according to the Corriere report, Martinez has returned to training normally.

The 27-year-old Inter captain completed a normal training session with the rest of the team.
