The Masked Singer's Woodpecker told us why they were convinced Nick Cannon and others would know who they were right away

The Masked SingerThe Group A final was fiercely contested and the evening ended with two contestants being unmasked. Our prediction about Ship be a musician Paula Cole was exactly right, but woodpecker was an actress Marsai Martin instead of Willow Smith. While we may have been wrong in our guess, Martin told CinemaBlend she believes everyone, including the host, is convinced Nick CannonShe would find out her identity immediately.

I had an excellent opportunity to speak with Martin before the show aired, and I asked her if she was worried that Cannon would find out who she was since she guest-starred on the show Wild 'n Out with him years ago. The actress revealed that her relationship with Nick Cannon runs deeper, and she felt that he and others who knew her well would find out who she was for a reason:

It's so funny because I feel like he knew it was me. I think out of everyone he knew, it was definitely me because I've known Nick for so long. Especially when we started singing in rehearsals, my parents and I talked about it. I think that people who really know who I am and have been around me know that my speaking voice is the same as my singing voice. So people will know, and Nick is one of those people who has heard me too many times to not know who I am. So, yes. I think when you see his reaction to him liking the multiple performances, I definitely felt like he knew who I was because we're just buddies.

Secure, Black ended with this emotional scene a few years ago, but Marsai Martin remained busy in Hollywood. She became one of the youngest executive producers in the industry and has slowly given up her role as a child actress to an adult with a promising career in media. A lot of people know her, including Nick Cannon, and as she mentioned, she felt like he was pretty convinced of her identity long before she was exposed.

In fact, Marsai Martin confirmed to CinemaBlend that friends and family reached out to her immediately after her first appearance on the show. Martin doesn't spend much time online, but she had learned through relatives that people had guessed her identity, which made her suspect she was secretly the Woodpecker. Martin said she kept it a secret from other family members during the trial, although it doesn't seem like they will be shocked when they finally see the exposure.

With the departures of Ship and Woodpecker, the Buffalos emerged as Group A winners and will advance to the next phase of the competition. I had Ship as my top contender for promotion, so I was shocked to see the trio outlast them. I'd love to see them win it all, but with so many competitors we haven't seen yet, I'm not making any bold predictions about the winner. I think her unmasking will be one of the most shocking revelations The Masked Singer because I don't know who they could be.
