The prosecutor suggests that accused murderer Nima Momeni's sister answered “yes” to every defense question

SAN FRANCISCO – The defense on Tuesday completed its questioning of Khazar Momeni, the sister of accused murderer Nima Momeni, in his murder trial in San Francisco.

During questioning, she made it clear that she hopes to convince the jury that it was the victim, Cash App founder Bob Lee, who was under the influence of drugs in April 2023, and the attacker, Messer and that her client took the knife and fatally stabbed Lee in self-defense.

In court, the sister said Lee – her boyfriend – angrily texted her the night before his murder, asking her to leave a party and saying if she didn't get in his Uber he would never come back talk to her.

Prosecutors say it was the defendant who became upset and angry because his sister told him that she had been given too many drugs at a party by Lee's alleged dealer and that the dealer had slapped her on the butt.

Her statement was criticized by Lee's family and others. She admitted to being a drug addict and recently completed a 30-day program.

KTVU legal analyst Michael Cardoza says it will ultimately be up to the jury to carefully consider their testimony.

“All of this depends on their truthfulness and veracity on the witness stand,” Cardoza said. “The jury will look, wait a minute, you're married and you're obviously trying to save your marriage, you're trying to save your reputation. And that will influence the way you make your statement. It will darken them. The jury.” Will take that into account.

There were some tense moments as the prosecution got a second chance to ask the sister questions. The prosecution essentially suggested that she simply said “yes” to every question the defense asked. This repeatedly led to objections and marginal comments. The nurse will return on Wednesday for further questions from the prosecution for referral.
