The Washington Parish Free Fair returns for food, family and fun

FRANKLINTON, La. (WGNO) – It's the event Washington Parish residents can't wait for every year: the Washington Parish Free Fair!

This year the fair will be held at 100 Main St. from October 16th to 20th.

The activities are endless, including areas to purchase locally sourced produce, a rodeo, and some of the best food the community has to offer.

“The Washington Free Fair is not only the largest in the entire region, but also in the world,” said Queen Addison Goings of the 2024 Washington Parish Fair.

Attractions also include the Mile Branch Settlement and the Authentic Historical Pioneer Village, where hosts dressed in period costumes will welcome you to the area.

Hundreds of people come to the fair every year, and those responsible assume that this year will be no different.

“It’s a time for families. Memories are created. It’s a time of togetherness for our city,” Goings said.
