“There has to be a point when Dad comes home.”

Tucker Carlson spoke to a raucous crowd in Georgia on Wednesday, where he compared former President Trump's expected return to the White House to a father's return home, adding that he would give the country a “vigorous beating.”

“There has to be a point when Dad comes home. Yes, that's right. Dad comes home. And he's angry. Dad is mad,” Carlson, the former Fox News host, said at a Turning Point USA event that also addressed Trump.

“He is not vindictive. He loves his children. No matter how disobedient they may be, he loves them. Because they are his children. They live in his house. But he is very disappointed with her behavior. And he has to tell them,” Carlson continued.

“When Dad comes home, you know what he says? “You were a bad girl.” You were a bad little girl and now you're getting a severe beating. And no, it won't hurt me more than it hurts you. No, it's not that. I won't lie. It'll hurt you a lot more than it hurt me. And you deserve it.'”

Carlson's comments quickly went viral on social media, sparking confused reactions from some Democrats.

“This is fucking weird,” James Singer, a Harris campaign spokesman, posted on X.

“What is actually…” Kate Bedingfield, a former top White House official under Biden, posted on X.

Carlson is extremely popular among Trump's supporters, as evidenced by the raucous reception he received when he spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.

The former Fox News host has hosted a series of live events in recent weeks with prominent Republican Party figures, including Trump's vice presidential running mate, Sen. JD Vance (Ohio). But Trump has not yet appeared alongside Carlson in the election campaign.

Carlson was fired from Fox News after the company paid more than $787 million to settle a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems over false statements and conspiracy theories the host and network made about the company after the 2020 election.
