Timothée Chalamet sings “Like a Rolling Stone” in the new Bob Dylan trailer

Another trailer for Timothée Chalamet's Bob Dylan biopic has just been released. A complete unknownand it seems that the Call me by your name Star has completely transformed into the legendary singer-songwriter.

James Mangold, known for bringing Johnny Cash's life story to the big screen in 2005 Walk along the linedirects.

The trailer begins with Chalamet's Dylan making his way from Minnesota to the Big Apple. “I wanted to capture a spark,” Chalamet says with a Midwestern touch.

A complete unknown follows the ups and downs of Dylan's early career, his journey to superstardom and his discomfort with adapting to the pressures of the music business.

“They just want me to sing 'Blowing in the Wind' for the rest of my damn life,” Dylan laments in the trailer.

The new footage offers glimpses into Dylan's various romances. Elle Fanning plays Sylvie Russo, an influential friend of the singer. Deadline reports that Fanning's character is based on Suze Rotolo, the real name of that former flame.

His relationship with singer Joan Baez is also documented in the film, with actress Monica Barbaro playing the activist and frequent Dylan collaborator.

In the trailer, Chalamet can be heard singing some of Dylan's hits like “Girl from the North Country” and “Like a Rolling Stone.” This isn't the first time Chalamet has serenaded audiences, as he has previously sung songs for his role in The Movie Wonka.

Excerpts from Dylan's famous electronic performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival are also highlighted. The “Knockin' on Heaven's Door” singer turned heads when he used electric instruments at the all-acoustic event.

The film, which hits theaters on Christmas Day, also features appearances from Scoot McNairy as Dylan's musical mentor, Woody Guthrie, Edward Norton as late folk singer Pete Seeger and Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash.
