The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper's larger and long-running crossword puzzle. Most days there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five-by-five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

In contrast to its bigger brother, the NYT Mini Crossword puzzles can be played for free New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you need one NYT Game subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

It cost me 0:57 to complete today's conclusion NYT Mini.

For a weekday puzzle, less than a minute is fine, but I made a few mistakes here.

I understood all the Across clues on my first playthrough, except WONK…or so I thought. It quickly became clear that my estimate of the “steps” for 6 Across was very wrong, considering that 1 Down was obviously CAIRO was. I also only figured out 4 Down when I corrected MILES, and I only got WONK by filling in the other letters.
