Tom Hardy looks forward to parting ways with Venom, but adds: 'It's like watching my son leave the house' | Ents & Arts News

Tom Hardy described Venom: The Last Dance as “monumentally brilliant” ahead of its release.

Speaking to Sky News at the film's UK premiere at the BFI IMAX in LondonThe English actor says it feels strange to part ways with a character he loves playing.

“In some ways it's like watching my son leave the house, which I'm looking forward to,” he joked.

“I don’t feel like it’s over yet because we’re still here. I don’t think it will really hit me until it’s quiet and I have a moment of reverie to myself.”

The actor played her Wonder Since 2018, she has starred in three films and helped write the script for the last two.

“There are a lot of emotions, I wouldn't say I'm emotional, but I'm very proud of my business partner because I've seen her go from our (idea) shopping and us trying to work together to delivery “I think it's monumentally brilliant.”

Filmmaker Kelly Marcel makes her directorial debut after writing the screenplays for each film in the trilogy.

She says it was a blessing to have Hardy by her side.

“It was a great privilege to be asked by Sony to do this final project and see it through from start to finish and give Eddie and Venom the send-off they deserve,” she said.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Stephen Graham And Juno Temple also appear in the third and final Venom film.

The Ted Lasso actress says she feels lucky to see Hardy play a role that is so close to his heart and says she is “blown away by how he brought these characters to life.”

“His performance as Eddie and Venom himself is exceptional.

“It’s a combination of physical comedy, emotional depth, turmoil, but also that inner voice of friendship.”

Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on Friday, October 25th.
