Trump criticizes Fox News for upcoming Harris interview

Following his prepared appearance on Fox News that aired over the weekend, Donald Trump sharply criticized the network ahead of his upcoming interview with Kamala Harris, saying that Fox News had “lost its way” and “wasn't worth it.” Stop conducting interviews with the network.

In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump named certain Fox News guests and contributors, falsely referring to them as “mouthpieces for the Harris radical left Democrats” and saying that their presence on the network was having a “very negative impact on the election.”

Trump singled out Harris' campaign spokesman Ian Sams, who appeared on Neil Cavuto's show on Monday. “Imagine me spending an hour with the wonderful Maria Bartiromo, doing a great job, and then being hounded all day by one-sided, negative Democrats, including Ian Sams, who practically owns the network,” Trump wrote. “It's not worth doing interviews on Fox because on average it just amounts to NOTHING. FoxNews has completely lost track!”

Trump's criticism of Fox News came after the network announced the same day that Harris would conduct an interview with its main political host, Bret Baier, on Wednesday. In another post, Trump responded to the announcement by accusing Baier of “often being very gentle with those in the 'cocktail scene' of the left.”

“I would have preferred to see a tougher journalist, but Fox has become so weak and soft on the Democrats and constantly littering the airwaves with unfettered Kamala reps that none of that matters anymore,” he wrote.

Trump continues to have a difficult relationship with the station, and his recent criticisms have been directed at the conservative station for not being uniformly pro-Trump and allowing dissenting voices on its shows. Trump has also attacked Fox News for its disloyalty, but it remains arguably the only mainstream news network where the Republican presidential nominee has the latitude for non-stop tirades. Take the above-mentioned pre-recorded interview with Bartiromo that aired Sunday: Trump made a series of outrageous false claims, insulted his political opponents, and called Democrats “the enemy within” and described them as “more dangerous than China, Russia and all these countries”. – and all with little to no resistance.
