Tyler Badie injury: Crucial update for Broncos RB after collapse during Jets game

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie He is expected to be fine after suffering a back injury in the game against the New York Jets. Accordingly Pro football talkBadie has movement in all extremities after being immobilized and leaving the field on a stretcher.

Badie was seen collapsing on the sideline after taking a blow to the lower back from the Jets' linebacker Quincy Williams. He left the field under his own power before collapsing on the sideline. Broncos head coach Sean Payton I didn't have an update on Badie after the game and it's not clear if Badie returned to Denver with the team.

Badie had just one carry before leaving Sunday's game. Javonte Williams said running backs coach Lou Ayeni told the group that Badie “would be fine, but we know Tyler is a fighter. I just saw him on the ground and went to see how he was doing.”

Before Sunday's game, Badie recorded 86 yards and 10 carries in two games. He has been with the team since the end of the 2022 season after being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Before the 2024 season, Badie spent most of his time on the practice squad. He played in one game during the 2022 season and caught one touchdown pass Russell Wilson.

“I was just grateful,” Badie told the Broncos’ official website last week. “With all the work I put in, I was just grateful for the opportunity. The most important thing is that I just want to win games and help the team win. That’s what I’m here for.”

“He was really decisive,” Payton said. “He had some big runs for us. He's smart. He knows the system. He is good at passing. He brings a lot.”

Badie played college football at Missouri and was named to the All-SEC First Team and All-America Second Team in 2021. The New Orleans native passed for 1,604 yards and 14 touchdowns this year.
