Utah HC game day: Maveric Lamoureux makes NHL debut

When Maveric Lamoureux got the call to come to Utah, he was standing in his apartment.

Tonight he will face one of the best teams in the league when Utah HC takes on the Colorado Avalanche at the Delta Center.

“It’s definitely a tough game,” said head coach Andre Tourigny. “There’s no faster pace than Colorado.”

However, Lamoureux has nothing to worry about. He will play alongside Ian Cole tonight, an experienced player who Tourigny says will improve the team game aspect.

He added that when the decision is made to give a prospect an NHL debut, it is an organizational decision.

“I said to (Lamoureux), enjoy it,” Tourigny said. “You have worked your whole life to be here. It’s not just a game, it’s your first game.”
